NOVEMBER RETREAT IN CLIVE

We’re looking forward to a fun filled weekend November 9, 10 & 11, 2007 at Country Inns & Suites in Clive.  This retreat is for all IQG members and you may join us as you have time.  Bring your sewing machine or your hand work and stitch with the rest of the group.  We have the Inn’s meeting room reserved for our retreat for Friday and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 12 midnight and Sunday from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. There will also be a table available in the workshop room for snack items you might want to bring to share with the group. 

 In addition to working on your projects (maybe you’ll have some that need to be finished for Christmas) the program chairs are planning on providing some mini-demonstrations by members.  Currently we have wool needle felting, quilted notebook covers and pet screen project bags demonstrations scheduled for various times throughout the weekend.  We may have one or two additional demonstrations.  If you have something you would like to share, please contact one of the program chairs, Jo Scharn djscharn@iowatelecom.net or Judy Sabbag jsabbag@netins.net.   In addition, there is a meeting with Show & Tell planned for 4:00 PM on Saturday.  Don’t forget to check the retreat box on the registration form in the newsletter (listing days if necessary) if you plan to attend OR contact Jo or Judy by phone or email.  We do need a count so we can plan to accommodate those that want to participate.  There will be no charge for this event, but a donation box will be present at the retreat for those who might want to donate money to help pay for the rental costs of the motel’s large meeting room. 

The motel is superior with many amenities.  Each morning there will be a free deluxe continental breakfast.  There is also a pool and fitness room you may want to enjoy.  Each deluxe room in the block we have reserved has two queen sized beds and a microwave & refrigerator.  Therefore, you can easily share the room and may desire to bring some of your own meals.   Also, the motel is conveniently located near many excellent restaurants.   Please be sure to check out their website at www.countryinns.com/cliveia.  The special rate for our IQG retreat is $94 per night.  Please call the motel directly before Oct. 19, 2007 and mention IQG to receive this rate.  Phone 515-223-9254. 
Directions:  Take the University exit off I 80 and I 35 on the west side of Des Moines.  Go about 1 block west to 118th Street.  Turn right (north) and go about 1 block to the Country Inns & Suites parking lot.
