The class will start at 9:00 a.m with a short meeting starting at 8:30 a.m. Coffee and rolls will be available. Lunch will be on your own and there are many nice restaurants nearby. A list of these eateries will be included with the materials list once you register! The instructors for the class will be furnished by Grinnell Fiber Works. Class is limited to 20. Hurry and register early!

The class is a wonderful wall quilt (actually a trio!) of a Japanese Geisha. If you did not see the samples at the July Quilt Iowa event, you missed a real beauty. This project is perfect for those who have a stash of oriental fabrics and no place to use them and for those of us who want to learn more about beads on quilts. We will also learn how to use some of those stitches that we ignore far to often!

Class fee is $35 payable to IQG and there will be a $12 fee for the base panel for the class, payable at the store in Grinnell before the class.  Other fabrics may be brought with attendees or the Fiber Works has a wonderful selection of oriental fabrics.  A materials list will be provided upon registration.

Directions - From the main I80 exit (exit 182) head north on Hwy 146 until you reach 4th St. intersection after crossing the railroad tracks. Turn right and on the next block turn right again and you are there!

July 20 and 21, 2007 Quilt Iowa II will be held at Valley West Inn in West Des Moines, IA. We will have a class on Friday afternoon by Gail Garber.

DESIGNING CIRCULAR BORDERS
It's not magic! It's easy, using simple drafting techniques, with Gail's sure fire, no "scary math words" teaching style. Learn to draft circular flying geese, spirals, big n' little, and more. No Sewing.

FRIDAY night will also feature a banquet with guest speaker Nancy Kazlauckas and her trunk show! Nancy does stunning thread calligraphy on quilts. Anyone with a zig-zag machine can learn to copy any type of print including handwriting using Nancy's method. Saturday, she will also present a full day class on Thread Calligraphy.
